The President of the Russian Federation the other day approved with his signature the adoption of a law that provides for permission to cultivate plants containing narcotic substances on the territory of the country's agricultural land.
In particular, Vladimir Putin gave the “green light” to the cultivation of those drug-containing crops that can be widely used in the manufacture of painkillers vaccines (for example, based on opium from poppy “boxes”) and powders for medical purposes and in the veterinary and livestock industry.
It is noteworthy that this document was posted on the official website of state legal information. It should be noted that the law was approved and adopted by both members of the State Duma and representatives of the Federation Council.
Based on the legislation in force in the Russian Federation, the cultivation of plants containing narcotic substances in the territory of the state is prohibited. However, the amendments adopted by the government introduce a number of significant changes.
Based on the points of the new legislative document, those enterprises that are among the unitary and are state-owned will be able to grow drug-containing crops.
It will not be superfluous to note that each of the organizations that will receive the right to cultivate these plants must have a state license, which makes it possible to carry out the production and processing of drug-containing crops.
It is important to add that the list of plants and varieties that can be grown on agricultural land of the Russian Federation will be determined by authorized experts under the government of the country.
