Essential Ingredients
For 1 can of 0.5 l you will need:
- green peas - 300 g;
- water - 0.5 l;
- salt - 25 g;
- sugar - 25 g;
- citric acid - 0.5 tsp
Step-by-step instruction
To prepare peas, follow these steps:
- Thoroughly wash the peeled fruits under water from the tap.
- Pour water into a cooking container (e.g. pan) and add sugar and salt.
- Place the marinade on the stove and boil it to dissolve the salt and sugar.
- Now pickle the product. Pour the peas into the pan so that the marinade completely covers it. Shake the container without stirring the contents. Cover the pan and wait for the contents to boil.
- After boiling the marinade, reduce the intensity of the fire to medium and cook almost until the peas are ready (15–20 minutes), constantly shaking the container.
- Check the readiness of the peas for taste. If the seed is soft, but does not fall apart, the fire can be turned off.
Important! When cooking peas in a marinade, remove bursted grains in a timely manner.
- At the end of cooking, introduce citric acid and mix by shaking the pan.
- Pour peas without marinade into pre-sterilized jars, leaving 1.5 cm free to the top.
- Pour the peas with boiling marinade.
- Roll up jars with pre-sterilized lids.
