Russian gardeners set themselves a difficult, but unusually interesting and ambitious task - for the coming year, their plans include a significant increase in the production of fruits and berries.
So, the agrarians of the Russian Federation intend to increase apple production up to one and a half million tons per year over the coming months. At the same time, purchases of foreign apples will be significantly reduced - up to 815 thousand tons. Although a year ago, the volume of imports of apples to Russian outlets amounted to about 860 thousand tons.
Also, purchases of foreign pears will be reduced, and now only 270 thousand tons of this fruit will be imported from other countries to the Russian Federation. Due to the fact that production of table grapes is increasing on Russian fields, the supply of this product from abroad will also be reduced - to 352 thousand tons per year.It will not be superfluous to emphasize that it is domestic agricultural products that are in greatest demand among Russian consumers today, and Russians acquire imports mainly when domestic suppliers have exhausted their resources and their products are in short supply. Experts concluded that Russian buyers are attracted by the affordable price of domestic fruits and berries.
We add that since 2014, when the country imposed sanctions on the distribution of products from some foreign countries, the rate of cash investments in domestic gardening has increased significantly.
