The conference “Onion - the trend of the season: storage and refinement” will be held on September 16 in the Kherson region. The event will talk about the production and storage of onions, as a process that can bring additional opportunities for the farmer.
The main issues of the conference:
- What exactly makes onions so attractive for growing?
- What will be the price and to whom is it profitable to sell?
- What is the economic feasibility of storing onions this season?
- Where to find equipment for the refinement and storage of onions on a different budget?
- Where can I look at the production, storage and sorting of onions at one farm?
Conference participants will be told about:
- components of high-quality production and storage of onions;
- agronomic requirements for the onion, so that it is stored at minimal cost;
- structure of storage for onions: basic axioms and rules;
- onion storage features: all requirements for products, storage buildings, storage process;
- sorting and packing lines in action: what to look for;
- market analytics and onion export potential.
During the event, an excursion to the exemplary enterprise of ChSP “Diamant” in the village of Dudchany is planned.
Reference: ChSP “Diamond” was founded in 2004., It has 340 hectares. under vegetables, including 130 ha. production area of onions. Main crops: onions, tomatoes, carrots, beets. It has a storage facility for 10 thousand tons, a feature of which is: storage of onions in bulk up to 6.5 m.
