A unique food product was invented in the laboratory of the Riga University of Agriculture: Latvian researchers make dumplings, pasta, pate, sausages and sausages from the Baltic national treasure - sprat fish.
The developers flavored the raw materials with soy and starch, added some seasonings and spices, tinted them with food coloring - and now, a new product is ready.
“Dumplings and sprat sausage look familiar to ordinary people,” the inventors say. “But the taste and nutritional properties of our innovative products will surely please the consumer!”
It is noteworthy that for the manufacture of raw materials, the sprat is ground together with the head, bones and tail. In other words, production can safely be called waste-free. In total, researchers at the University of Riga managed to produce more than twenty food products from fish stock. Many of them have already gone on sale in Latvian outlets. The developers note that similar products have long been produced in other countries. But it is always cheaper to do it on your own than to spend larger amounts on imported goods.
