Last month, June 2019, in the territories of the North Caucasus Federal District, as well as in the southern regions of the Russian Federation, mostly hot weather was formed with prevailing dry winds.
As a result, intense exposure to the sun has led winter crops to accelerate the ripening process.
At the same time, in some areas of agricultural land in these regions, especially where the moisture supply in the soil was minimal, the grain sensitivity was increased (this manifests itself in an increase in grain roughness, which changes its shape and mass in the direction of decrease, and also negatively affects the sowing seed properties).
Such information was shared by employees of the Russian Hydrometeorological Center, noting also that the availability of moisture in the soil in the southern regions of the country literally fell to a critical level.
And in most cases, the moisture content of the soil is assessed as insufficient and poor. In some areas of the eastern part of the Southern Federal District, soil drought has formed, and the water reserves in the soil have reached less than fifty millimeters.
This negatively affects the vegetation of crops of local farmers - in some fields damage to crops as a result of drought is recorded.
