Kristina Lieberger moved to Ukraine seven years ago and founded one of the first organic farms in Ukraine. In the village of Potutory, Berezhansky district, Ternopil region, she grows spices, is engaged in crop production and dairy farming.
Seven years ago, Kristina was invited to Ukraine by her friend Rainer Sachs, who, together with Ivan Boyko, opened the company Live Land Potutory on the basis of the collective farm. The woman says that she always dreamed of her own business and agriculture, so she agreed to move. In Ukraine, the businesswoman likes it. According to her, there is a very rich land and nice people.
Now, with her assistants, Christina grows about 50 varieties of different spices, which are then included in the composition of spices and aromatic teas. At the farm, they are immediately packed in special paper bags and sent to customers by New Mail.Alexandra Stefovanaya has been working on the farm for 6 years. She is glad that there is at least some work in the village, otherwise she would have to go abroad, like most of the villagers. Recipes of tea, which she daily packs, came up with Christina Lieberger herself. Now the farm employs 20 people.
In addition to growing spices, the farm practices crop production and dairy farming.
Director of the Ukrainian-Swiss enterprise Ivan Boyko says that the farm became one of the first organic farms in Ukraine. She began to work when the country did not yet have a law on organic production, as well as a market for organic products. In one of the former collective farm premises, a barn was equipped. Burenki graze on spacious pastures, and in winter they eat hay or food grown without the use of chemicals. Thus, the farm receives organic milk.
