The Rosselkhoznadzor experts, performing their duties on the basis of the department’s main department in the Orenburg region, shared disappointing information: more than half of the dairy products presented on the market stalls and supermarket shelves in the region are substandard counterfeit products.
It is noted that at the beginning of 2019, about 40 samples of milk and products from it were selected from retail outlets in the Orenburg region. According to the Rosselkhoznadzor employees, the samples were taken from pasteurized milk, cheeses of various kinds, as well as sour cream and butter.
As a result of careful research in the laboratory, it was found that at least 20 product samples do not correspond to the composition indicated on the production label.Cheeses accounted for the lion's share of counterfeit products - counterfeiting and low quality were detected in 80% of cheese samples. So, in fake cheeses made by unclean milkmen, fats of non-dairy vegetable origin, as well as fat and oils that were not indicated in the composition on the factory label were found.
In many cases, a mismatch was found on the label of the proportion of protein in the product. At the same time, it is important to note that in the Orenburg companies that specialize in the production of milk and dairy products, there were no cases of counterfeiting in 2019.
