In accordance with the recent increase in demand for high-quality strawberries in the Russian market, the VE Group plans to build a greenhouse for the production of Japanese strawberries in the Victoria Industrial Park, owned by the VE Group in the city of Elektrostal, in a suburban area of Moscow. The project is planned to be increased from 10 to 30 ha.
In addition, the Moscow Region Government decided to provide the project with state subsidies, since it is expected that the high potential of the project to create jobs and economic development in Russia will make a significant contribution to society.
The Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries of Japan has also selected this project for subsidization, as it falls under the category of "global operating presence of the Japanese food industry."
Stable deliveries of Japanese strawberries under the project would accelerate the diversification of the Russian food culture, as well as promote the Japanese brand as it enters the world market.
Scientists claim that eating strawberries can improve memory and prevent premature aging of brain cells.
Since 2014, JFE Engineering has been operating in greenhouses in Tomakomai and Sapporo in Hokkaido. JFE Engineering has applied its proprietary technology to these greenhouses, which result in high value-added crops.
Upon request, VE Group JFE Engineering uses its experience and knowledge in the greenhouse business to provide cultivation training services for the project after the completion of the first 10 hectares. in the year 2021.
Marubeni and JFE Engineering consider this the first step in their collaboration to spread Japanese high-value-growing technology in Russia, the CIS countries and the rest of the world, thereby contributing to the development of regional and global economies.
