The press service of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation reports that in 2019, twice as much funds were allocated for the needs of the country's wine growers than a year earlier.
As a result, subsidies from regional funds and the federal budget allowed specialists from grape fields to find worthy and rational use of 714 million rubles. The lion's share of these funds went to the laying of young vineyards.
In particular, from the beginning of the year, about 880 hectares of vineyards were planted in the Kuban territory. It is noteworthy that this figure is 87% of the volume that Kuban winegrowers intended to plant this spring in their region.It is known that in spring and autumn of this year, Kuban farmers intend to increase the area of their vineyards by 2.4 thousand hectares. Such information was shared with the public in the press service of the Russian Ministry of Agriculture.
In the spring, about 1 thousand hectares will be filled with young vineyards, and in the autumn period the grape "piggy bank" of the region will be replenished with another 1.4 thousand hectares of young shoots. It is noteworthy that since the beginning of 2019, a new generation of grape plantations with a total area of 1748.6 hectares has already appeared on the expanses of the Russian Federation.
